FBI agent: Excuse me, I'm an investigator for the FBI. I would like a copy of a student's transcript.
Registrar: Ok. You need to pay a $7 transcript fee.
FBI agent: Uh. I don't think I need to pay that. I'm an investigator for the FBI.
Registrar: Everybody has to pay for a transcript.
FBI agent: I think I will have to speak to your supervisor.
Registrar: I'm sorry, but that's what the sign says.

Five minutes later their car was stolen.

Cop #1: We wouldn't have so much crime here if Law & Order was set somewhere else. I mean, they're just giving people ideas, and making them think it's entertaining.
Cop #2: Uh huh. And the show also makes people think the force is full of skilled, competent officers.
Cop #1: I guess I object to that, too.

It may sound like a joke, but studies I've read do show it's the truth.

Beautiful Co-Ed Found Murdered (New York Post) Feb. 27th, 2006 @ 10:07 am

A violent sicko killed a bright and beautiful Manhattan grad student, covered her entire face in duct tape and then wrapped her naked corpse in a blanket before dumping it on the side of a Brooklyn road, police said.

It appeared that Imette St. Guillen, a 24-year-old dean's-list student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice, was choked to death and may have been sexually assaulted.

The body of the petite, raven-haired beauty was discovered on Fountain Avenue near the Belt Parkway in East New York at about 8:30 p.m. Saturday, cop sources said.

Hi everyone. I'm Amanda, and currently I'm a freshman at the College of Staten Island, as well as a Staten Island resident. CSI seems to eat away at my motivation due to the overall Staten Island attitude and I've decided I can't live, work and go to school here anymore lol. Considering that I'm not moving, or finding another job, it seem's like CSI has got to go.

I've been looking to transfer to John Jay now, but I don't know much about it. I'm not exactly interested in your standard academics, and I guess that's why I've been attracted to John Jay. ( You know what I mean? lol)

I was wondering if any of you can answer some of my questions. If you can, much love ♥

- How do you like the school? Is it just like any other commuter school or more close knit? Basically what's the general vibe of the school. Are they're lotsa clubs? Good Athletics? How's the people too?

- After looking at the website for days now, I still can't figure out the standards for transfers. Since I'm only a freshman with very few credits ( I think at this moment, I've got 14 ) will I still need my HS transcripts?

- How is the Forensic Science program? How's the Forensic Psychology program?..I'm interested in both, but as far as careers I'm not sure where they can take me. Any insight on this would be soo appreciated.

Thanks in advance and feel free to add me!

Hello! Jan. 30th, 2006 @ 04:38 pm
Hey all, new student here. So I haven't been to college in a long time. Finally finishing up. So I have some questions. Hopefully someone here can point me in the right direction. :)

1. So I need to add a class that's full. When I went to SUNY Albany, you would show up to the class at the time you wanted, spoke with the professor and if he/she still had room, they'd give you code that let you register. Is this still the way it works? If not, then how can I add the class I need? :)

2. I'm part of the CUNY BA program. Does anyone here belong to that program as well? If I am lucky and someone here is, would they be able to recommend a faculty mentor in the Math/Computer Science Dept?

3. Are all the depts hard to reach on the phone? I'm going nuts over here. :)

Also any general 'How To' or 'DOn't Do This' suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks and maybe I'll see some of you folks around!
